Honey - Polyphenols & Bogdana

We believe that one of the reasons Bogdana RNF – Rejuvenating Nutritional Formula works so well is because more than 100 nutrients contained in RNF are blended into honey and molasses base.

The role of honey has been acknowledged in the scientific literature and there is a convincing evidence in support of its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.

Honey is a remarkably complex natural liquid that is reported to contain at least 181 substances. Honey has been found to contain several antioxidant enzymes including glucose oxidase, catalase and other antioxidant components like flavonoids, phenolic acids, carotenoid derivatives, organic acids, amino acids and proteins. Various essential biological bioactive compounds include vitamin A (Retinol), Vitamin E, Vitamin K (Anti-Hemorrhagic Vitamin), Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B6, Niacin, Vitamin C, Pantothenic acid, flavonoids and fatty acids, cinnamic acid, hydroxyl benzoic acid, octadecanoic acid, ethyl ester and more.

It also contains many active constituents and antioxidants such as polyphenols (phytochemicals), a generic term for the several thousand plant-based molecules with antioxidant properties.

Many studies have been conducted about polyphenols and how they affect chemical reactions in our body. They confirm the protective effect of polyphenols on a number of diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, neurodegenerative, pulmonary and liver diseases and others.

For example: Regular polyphenol intake is associated with a reduced risk of cardiovascular diseases. In the coronary heart disease, the protective effects is mainly anti-thrombotic, anti-ischemic, antioxidant, and vasorelaxant (reduction in tension of the blood vessel walls). Flavonoids (the largest family of polyphenolic compounds) decrease the risk of coronary heart disease by three major actions: improving coronary vasodilatation (widening of blood vessels), decreasing the ability of platelets in the blood to clot, and preventing LDL (bad cholesterol) from oxidizing.

Studies have shown that honey has anti-cancer effect through its interference with multiple cell-signaling pathways, such as inducing apoptosis (cell self-destruction), anti-proliferative (substance used to prevent or retard the spread of especially malignant cells into surrounding tissues), anti-inflammatory, and anti-mutagenic (reducing the rate of mutation) pathways. Honey helps regulate the body immune system. There are still many unanswered questions such as why sugar is carcinogenic, while honey, which is basically sugar, has anti-carcinogenic properties.

Many cosmetic companies started to include polyphenols in their skin care lines. But their effects may be only temporary, unless the body is supplied with the polyphenols from within, by eating more green vegetables and fruits daily, or by supporting our diet with a dietary supplement that contains them.

It’s no wonder that Bogdana RNF – Rejuvenating Nutritional Formula works so well.
